Do I need previous Board experience to apply?
No – not at all. We’ll provide all the training and support you need to get started. What matters most is your interest in your community and your willingness to get involved.
What if I already have relevant experience?
That’s great! We’d love to hear from you. Experience from community groups, volunteering, work, or previous Board or committee roles is all valuable. You’ll be able to build on your skills and use your experience to make an even greater impact.
What kind of time commitment does the role involve?
The Board meets four times a year via Microsoft Teams or in person, with some preparation time needed before each meeting. We’ll make sure meeting dates are shared well in advance, and you’ll receive support to help manage your time and involvement.
Will I get any training or support?
Yes – full induction and ongoing training are provided. You’ll have access to mentoring, guidance, and opportunities to develop your skills in areas like governance, leadership, and decision-making.

What happens after I apply?
We will operate a two-stage recruitment and selection process.
First stage:
You will have the opportunity to have an informal chat with our Head of Governance and Head of Operations – Twenty11, to discuss the role in further detail. You will be able to ask questions about what the role entails, and it will also provide us with an opportunity to find out more about you, and discuss your motivations for applying for this position. This stage will be undertaken virtually via Microsoft Teams.
Second stage:
The second stage of the process will involve a panel interview with the Chief Executive, Alan Keers and chair of our Board, Derek Cash. This stage will be a meeting via Microsoft Teams.
